"There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about dresses," says McKenzie Rae Peck, CEO and founder of "Dressed" and "MCNZ TM," Formerly known as "McKenzie Rae Dresses."
McKenzie learned how to sew at a very young age and would make clothes for her dolls. She started making dresses for her friends formal events like prom and a few wedding dresses too!
McKenzie then left for the Big Apple the day after she graduated high school, at 19 years old to pursue her lifelong dream of fashion. She worked as an intern in East Hampton, New York at the very posh boutique where she learned what it was like to serve a high end clientele, manage a store, and run operations of a clothing company.
She lived in West Hollywood thereafter to pursue her love for fashion once again. This is where she learned the very important lesson, that if you want anything done right, you must learn to do it yourself. She taught herself the ins and outs of marketing, SEO, curating websites, and even started doing her own photography.
McKenzie started working for the prom and pageant store, "Ypsilon Dresses" in SLC, Utah where she worked with the owner to build the business ground up into the top multi million dollar prom and pageant dress store on the West Coast! She was the head of the Prom Rep Team and the Director of Pageants. While working at Ypsilon, she was persuaded to compete in pageants by her clients. McKenzie had a strong background in modeling since the age of 8, including covers of magazines, working for high end companies such as Ski doo, Columbia, North face, Sundance, Maxim etc. You can even find her in the Delta Airlines magazine molding for the Alaska Fur Co.
So she decided to compete for Miss Utah USA and completely fell in love with the friendships she made, the camaraderie, and sparkly dresses.
As Miss Salt Lake City USA, she won best interview and placed in the top 10. She continued on to pursue pageantry and started working with the Utah Domestic Violence coalition to bring awareness to the signs and dangers of unhealthy teen dating.
She then went on to win the title of Ms. Utah United States and placed in the top 10 at nationals in Washington DC.
Never loosing sight of her end goal, she opened up her dream store in San Diego, California "McKenzie Rae Dresses," a 6,500 sq. ft. Girly haven where each customer received high end service by appointment only, served a glass of champagne upon arrival. The store, pink of course, was doused in crystal chandeliers, and even had remote control velvet curtains hanging from the 15 foot ceilings.
Of course, as everyone had been affected by the pandemic in 2020, McKenzie had to close up shop and move everything online. During her time as a single stay at home mother during the pandemic she build her very own trademarked brand. "MCNZ" which you can shop today on AMAZON. Keep a look out, because big things are happening for this up and coming classic brand!
